| How do you store base
oils? |

To keep them fresh,
always refrigerate them until you are ready
to use them. This is especially important
for the oils of avocado, almond, flaxseed,
borage, rose hip seed and evening primrose.
If you are mixing oils, make sure you do it
at one time and then use them quickly. If
you want to extend the life of your base
oil, you can also add essential oils, as
they act as mild antioxidants. |
| How Do I Apply A Hydrosol
or Floral Water? |

Use a hydrosol on a
piece of cotton or cloth to remove leftover
residue. Put it into a spray bottle and mist
your skin to re-hydrate or replenish its
moisture. These methods will enhance
absorption of facial oils. |

Toners
Here are our
selections for Skin Toners and Tonics. Products are
listed in order of brand. There are samples available
with each item reasonably priced. Please read the
notice on the right as not all items are returnable.
Traditional Toners usually have the
job of getting rid of residues left over from using
cleansers. It's usually from having PEG's in the
formula. Natural toners can be more beneficial.
They can help add needed nutrients, moisture, and help heal.
It is essential however, that you use a mask or refiner
twice a week, followed by a good skin cream or lotion.

SHEA BUTTER SKIN TONER
All Skin Types, Sensitive
The tonics, creams and
cleanser in this series of skin care products contain no
essential oils, no alcohol, no herbal extracts or bee
products. They also do not contain any preservatives,
synthetic substances or perfumes.... they are totally
free of the usual substances which could cause reactions
in allergy-prone individuals, for most. Rose water and
elder blossom water are produced "softly" through steam
distillation. Please don't confuse this as meaning
scentless; you will smell the floral waters. If you have
a problem with the light scent of rose, then you may not
want to try this selection. Rose has generally been
looked at as homeopathic, so the waters used in this
line do have a purpose. It is recommended, as all our
products are, to start with samples.

| Can I use Vinager alone
as a Toner? |
|
Vinegars were the rage
for centuries, but there are a few things
you should know about them. First, avoid
white vinegar. Its derived from petroleum.
White corn vinegar is fine and plain apple
cider, wine or other vinegars are fine. All
toners made with vinegar must be diluted in
water, aloe or hydrosol. Use a maximum of
one tablespoon vinegar per one-half cup
water, or less vinegar for sensitive skin.
Vinegar softens skin, restored the acid
mantle, relieves itching, and destroys
fungus and yeast, such as candida. |
| What receipe would work
for dry skin if I want to use a hydrosol? |

According to the
author of "The Healing Power of
Aromatherapy," you could blend rose hydrosol
with jojoba, adding the essential oils of
chamomile, rose, frankincense, geranium, and
myrrh. Blend together and add honey. This
could be an effective mask for dry and
mature skin. If you want to add to it, you
could put additional plant base oils of
evening primrose and borage, but sparingly |
